Re: Israel conflict
While it's fair to say Israel's global reputation has been shattered as it continues its offensive in Gaza and becomes more isolated than ever, I don't think it has suffered a reputation shift any greater than that of the US.
The US continues to arm Israel, yet condemn Israel for the actions they enable.
This has resulted in the global community questioning the motives, morals and principles of the US, more than they already did.
The amount of hatred being expressed towards the US, for enabling and allowing this war to continue, is incredible.
I've never seen so much American hatred in my lifetime.

Re: Israel conflict
I completely agree with Henry Ergas.
I wrote a short post about October 7 where I noted the war between Israel and Hamas was a propaganda war.
There is no doubt at all, in the propaganda war, Hamas was won.

Re: Israel conflict
All political bias aside, the level of apparent coordination here is quite extraordinary.

Re: Israel conflict
I'm still trying to digest this.
Like I said yesterday, it's just extraordinary the level of sophistication.
A lot of people have underestimated Israel's capabilities, on the digital front.
This has really gotta be making Israel's enemies paranoid about using any form of comms device.
This is grayzone tactics.

Re: Israel conflict
How Israel is causing chaos in the Middle-East, using GPS spoofing.
But it's not just affecting its military enemies, but disrupting civil aviation, and civilian life too.
Even some Israeli citizens are reverting to paper maps because of GPS dysfunction.

Re: Israel conflict
Anyone who believes that a two-State solution is at all within reach right now, between Israel and Palestine, is showing how detached they really are from what's happening right now.

Re: Israel conflict
Joe Biden is reportedly seeking a cease fire between Israel and Hezbollah.
Seriously, he's got no hope.
He couldn't even get a cease fire sealed for Gaza.

Re: Israel conflict
I completely agree with Michael Shoebridge.
Many nations are quietly supporting Israel in its wider objective to dismantle Iran's ability to terrorize the region through proxy forces.

Re: [Middle-East Politics] Israel conflict
If Hamas accepts a ceasefire with Israel in Gaza, then Hamas will splinter.

Re: [Middle-East Politics] Israel conflict
Nobody seems willing to say this, so I will:
Israel continues to act with US backing because Israel is doing precisely what the US wants to do but cannot, due to the geopolitical outrage it would cause.
Israel is a 'dirty proxy' of the US.
Despite international condemnation of Israel's actions, the US is extremely pleased with the results.
Israel has decimated Hamas, Hezbollah, and is now refocusing on the Houthis.
Israel will likely destroy all three groups to the point where they are mere shadows of their former structures.
Ultimately, this weakens Iran - and, let's be honest, nobody cares about Iran.
The US continues to fund and arm Israel with whatever it needs to get the job done because, due to unspoken geopolitical stigma, its own hands are effectively tied.
