The Australian Government's pledge to reduce immigration numbers turned out to be a complete lie.
Instead, immigration has continued to rise, reaching record-breaking levels.

I support nuclear, but the reliance on extending coal-powered stations beyond their designed lifecycle, plus more, was always the fatal flaw in Peter Dutton's nuclear future policy.

Re: [Australian Politics] Australian Politics
As much as I despise Australia's failed two-party democracy experiment, it's clear the third-party option experiment has been an equal failure.
The Australian Terrorist Party, also known as The Greens, continues to shed support as voters shift their support back to the two major parties.
I don't like the two-party (effectively a one-party) system, however if it means the ultimate demise and dissolution of The Australian Terrorist Party, then I'll support it.

Re: [Australian Politics] Australian Politics
Australia Day is finished.
It has no meaning, and hasn't for so many years now.
It's only a day celebrated by disgusting, offensive rednecks who get blind drunk.
And to most of us, it’s just the same tired, controversial debate every year which negates all meaning.
Indigenous cultures recognize it as Invasion Day, and rightly so - it is.

Re: [Australian Politics] Australian Politics
On what metrics is the Prime Minister rating himself to believe he's doing a good job?
Every single metric I can pull from every single data source published indicates the complete opposite, combined with an accelerating decline in voter satisfaction.

Re: [Australian Politics] Australian Politics
I agree, this isn't anywhere near close to a serious policy.
I actually thought it was a joke when I first read about it!
It's confirmation, really - which has been long known - that Australia's leaders are voted in on mandates of essentially nothing.

Re: [Australian Politics] Australian Politics
The only thing worse about these attacks is the worst Government in Australia's history, led by the worst Prime Minister in Australia's history, dismissing domestic terrorism as simply "Islamophobia".
If domestic terrorism doesn't prompt the convening of National Cabinet, what does?

Re: [Australian Politics] Australian Politics
This a very serious development, if accurate.
It has been suggested that international terrorist groups may be funding domestic terrorism (and/or anti-semitic attacks) through cryptocurrency payments.

Re: [Australian Politics] Australian Politics
Australia hasn't had a "leader" since Anthony Albanese formed Government.
The constant pushing back and delaying of convening a National Cabinet meeting, on a matter of urgent national security, is enough proof anyone needs that the man is completely unfit for the office of Prime Minister.
