John Bolton is attempting to make a case to justify an invasion of Iran and doesn't do a good job of it.

And this:

Oh so American thinking  ; believing you have the right to just invade foreign sovereign territory, overthrow its government and replace it with a new US-backed regime which history has proven never works as a long-term solution.
Stupid Americans never learn.

If Iran's threat to retaliate with a strike on Israel was just a bluff to put Israel and effectively the world on heightened alert, to sow conspiracy for discontent, then it's working.
Since Iran's original threat, there has been no actual execution of the threat, only constant chatter and the creation of all forms of conspiracy theories related to Iran, across all social networks.

At best, Iran's retaliation against Israel's attacks on Tehran will be non-existent.
At worst, Iran's retaliation will include small numbers of missiles which will mostly be intercepted by joint US/Israel defense systems.
The most likely long-term effect will be ongoing tit-for-tat assaults from both sides, on erroneous or unimportant targets.
