While security concerns about Huawei often are overhyped and without merit, the security concerns around Hikvision are justified, and are a legitimate cause for concern.

Once again, Australia appears to be deferring critical national security and defense infrastructure decisions,
continuing to rely heavily on U.S. security guarantees rather than pursuing sovereign capabilities.
This is evidenced by the recent decision to cancel the $7 billion military satellite communications project.
