[Global Politics] AUKUS

So China was right!
Despite the clumsy claims at the beginning that AUKUS was not a military alliance to counter China, the revelation of South Korea, New Zealand, Canada, and possibly even Japan, showing interest in joining AUKUS has clearly framed it as a military alliance to counter China.
Which is what China said from the beginning, when AUKUS was conceived.
This isn't the first time China has embarrassed the West in this way.

AUKUS isn’t just a massive, misjudged, and messy mistake—it has also completely failed to deliver improved national security and defense for Australia.
Despite its budget exceeding all other branches of the Australian Defense Force, AUKUS has produced nothing in return for the billions of dollars funneled into an increasingly dysfunctional and unreliable US partnership.
Why is Australia so insistent on proceeding with this reckless agreement?
