There is seriously something very, very wrong and smelly in the Australian energy sector if we have some of the highest energy prices in the world yet energy operators are running at a loss.

Although not its intention, this article does a great job explaining why rolling out too much solar energy, too fast, is actually bad for the market overall, as it affects wholesale prices and results in energy operators paying solar owners for excess energy being fed into the system.
Mass solar roll-out isn't good for the market and it's no surprise Australians are paying some of the highest energy prices in the world.

What concerns me about right-wing political commentators in Australia pushing for nuclear energy is they are arguing the case for nuclear construction using UAE and Middle-Eastern politics as an example of how fast it can be done.
Yeah, seriously, come on.
Political frameworks, decision making processes and the multitude of regulatory mazes in Australia, being a democracy, is going to make this a two decade or more solution if we go down the nuclear path.

This abuse of foreign workers is commonplace and it's sickening.
Seasonal work has always been full of corruption and illegal activities, by abusing workers.
And the industry wonders why they struggle to find enough workers to fill vacancies...

There should be a class action against the BOM for the financial burden which resulted directly from its hysterical, woke-driven "long-range forecast" which proved to be the opposite of what actually occurred over summer.

What's worse, as the article rightly points out, the media verbatim repeated and peddled along the hysteria without even asking any questions.

As far as I'm concerned, the media is just as guilty for the fear porn as much as the BOM.

An utter joke!

Australian Government is pressing pretty hard on big tech, for their refusals and inaction of taking down "extremist" and "child abuse" content.

Australia set to deport Russian spy, citing a risk to its national security.
To be honest, she appears quite dumb.
Just sayin'.

Another COVID-19 inquiry which will undoubtedly focus on everything but what's important, like overzealous, authoritarian response orders.
We'll see.

Poor little Australia!
Sometimes we think we have more influence over big tech than we actually do.
If they're trying to put Meta in a corner and push them to pull out of the Australian market entirely, they're making all the right moves.
This is such crap!

No, Australians will not be turning their backs on Facebook because very few Australians actually use Facebook for reading the news, purely because the algorithms prevent news posts from displaying in user's timelines.
This requires users to manually search for the news service and head to their dedicated Facebook page to see what's posted.
Realistically, this is something very, very few users actually do, because it's cumbersome and modern internet users are generally just lazy.
So the Government and Australian media outlets should stop trying to martyr Australian users  just because Meta has stopped giving the media outlets free money.
