Re: [Asia/Pacific Politics] China affairs

Journalist for The Australian, Will Glasgow, has returned to China, signaling the end to China's blacklisting of Australian journalists in the country.
For how long will the improved media relations last this time?
That's a big unknown.
I suspect only until China throws another diplomatic tantrum and decides Australian journalists working inside China are too much of a threat to its secrecy.

China and the Philippines continue to engage in hostile naval acts, in the South China Sea.
China is blaming the US for encouraging the hostile acts on the Philippines side.

So what is China's Plan B?
Well, they don't have one!
It's just full steam ahead with Plan A, whatever the costs and sacrifices may be.

China looks set to reform its legal policies and guidelines to ensure it can sweep up basically all public data, placing it under the guise of national security, and protecting privacy and business secrets.

This move seems to be a combination of stimulus and slow-roll reform, by stealth.

If the West proceeds with a silly, unjust ban on Chinese EV technology it won't be because of security concerns, it will be trade-based.
Just as it was with the Huawei ban.
It will not only highlight the lack of technological innovation in this area by American car manufacturers, but solidify Chinese superiority in the area of the auto industry.
American car manufacturers are being left in the dark, and being embarrassed by Chinese EV technology, which admittedly had a rough start, but has quickly powered ahead and become high quality.

Based solely on what is being reported about Kevin Rudd's analysis on China affairs, it actually seems surprisingly aligned with my own observations.

It's well known that AUKUS was established to reign in China's expansion in South-East Asia.
We're starting to look stupid by continuing to deny it and claim the security bloc is not focused on China, and only China.

There's so much anti-China MSM propaganda circulating from the West that it's actually quite disturbing.
The only side I see provoking war is the West.
Western MSM and even independent journalists are trying to claim Xi Jinping has ordered the Chinese military to "Prepare for war".
This is entirely false.
What Xi Jinping actually ordered was for its strategic missile troops to "strengthen their deterrence and combat capabilities and resolutely fulfill the tasks entrusted to them by the Party and the people" so it could "effectively safeguard national strategic security and core interests".
This is a farcry from the Western MSM false narrative being pushed.
