It’s a big day for QANONSEC!
We have pushed an update to the #QANONSEC secure search portal, with Version 1.8.0 (Build 8.1) coming out of beta testing, and is now live for all web and app users.
Under the hood, its received a lot of code polish, and is 100% compatible and validated by W3C.
Also, base access has been switched to PHP, making it even easier for us to apply development updates in the future.
After a couple of idle months, the #QANONSEC secure search Android app has also received a HUGE update, boosting it to Version 3.8.1 (Build 5.0).
The biggest change is the side menu, which has had a slight restructure.
We’ve shifted a few things around and separated some items to make it easier to navigate, and to keep it more logical.
We’ve also added some extra news sources which we feel in a dangerous and chaotic world are important sources to keep activists informed, despite their contentious presence.
Now to share some news we’re really proud of!
QANONSEC is increasingly concerned about the global information wars and attempts to censor freedom of speech.
Some countries have taken it upon themselves to block social network platforms, entirely.
In some cases, this has also extended to having specific apps blocked through the Google Play Store.
We believe this is unacceptable and will do what we can to support netizens who’ve been subjected to unfair censorship or other network blocks.
QANONSEC does not host our app through the Play Store, therefore it is readily accessible to everyone, and is less likely to become blocked by even the most hostile governments.
So, how are we helping?
We’ve now added direct links to a few tools inside the side menu which may be useful to users who need to bypass censorship or network blocks.
At the bottom of the side menu, you can directly access NextDNS, Proton VPN or Tor for Android.
Generally, we recommend regular users on the open internet who access services through our app use NextDNS, at the very least.
In some cases, a VPN may be required, therefore we recommend Proton VPN, which thankfully now has a free plan.
More advanced users who want better security and anonymity will most likely opt to run Tor.
Our app is also fully compatible with Tor.
Depending on your security preferences or requirements, #QANONSEC secure search Android app provides users with a range of options for secure and anonymous connectivity, by bypass censorship or network blocks when in a hostile country or other jurisdiction, or your personal safety may be at risk.
Our companion app, Q Browser, has a new release too, with Version 2.0 now immediately available.
An important point to note is that the updated Android apps have completely new unique app identifiers.
So please remove any old versions of apps from your Android device before installing the updated apps to avoid app duplication on your device.
Other notable update information includes some minor bug fixes for our AI+ Hub and license changes.
